I don't know what was better, the food or the sweet guys who own this place. It's tiny but packs a BIG punch. The service was excellent and we enjoyed chatting with both owners.
I had the chicken salad and it was very different and delicious!!! The flavors were perfect. The chef has a very good palate because the flavors went so well together! The chicken salad wasn't drowning in mayonnaise. It was light and perfectly prepared with diced chicken, whole pecans, sweet grapes and crunchy celery. I don't know what other herbs he used but there was something light and slightly sweet that made it absolutely delicious.
I also had the lemon cheesecake and it was superb. It was light as air and the almond crust was light and crispy! Yum! I'm sure I'll be thinking of the cheesecake for some time to come.
It is worth the drive to eat at this sweet little spot! I would highly recommend it and will absolutely be eating here when I visit Savannah again. -

Joe's has been in the horizon for a couple months now and today we had a little extra time on lunch break to go try it out and I'm upset that I took so long to come here! WOW IT WAS SO GOOD. There's not one single thing they could've done differently for me to like it even more, everything from service to the food was excellent.
The cafe itself is a bit on the small side but they don't let it take away from their big flavors! We were introduced by Dan who warmly welcomed us and was very kind the entire time. Once he seated us he took our orders and brought us out some amazing tomato jam and crackers that really got your taste buds flying. My friend ordered the special for the day which was a panini with Brie cheese, chicken and strawberries which looked so delicious. He said he loved it! I ordered the Silly Goose which consisted of turkey, bacon, and pimento cheese and let me be the first to tell you that I've never had a better sandwich. From the flavors of the fresh ingredients, to the texture of it and the warmth of the sandwich put that sucker over the top!
This place is a gem and should definitely be on every bodies list to visit here! Will definitely be coming back!
UPDATE: Got the Crawford and it was awesome! The pesto was an excellent topping for this sandwich. Also tried their caramel chocolate cake and OMG I wanted to get the entire cake it was delicious! -

Thank you Yelp for this fabulous culinary find! A picture says a thousand words, and my photo of the Skidaway Cobb Salad says it all! Fresh, fresh, fresh lettuce greens with heaping, colorful Cobb Salad toppings. Tender sliced chicken breast was the crowning glory on this salad, as well as, blue cheese crumbles, variety of yellow, purple, and red cherry tomatoes, bacon, sliced avocado, purple onion, and boiled egg accompanied with a delicious homemade dressing. This is my favorite lunch spot in Savannah!
Don't skip dessert because theirs are fabulous! My husband said their carrot cake was the best he'd ever had!
Joe's Homemade Restaurant is home in an unassuming, small shopping center on Waters Avenue. Careful because you may miss it! Additionally, they have limited seating inside with 2-four top tables, 2-two top tables and two counter stools (14 people max). Outside they have 2-two top sidewalk tables. They have a successful catering business, and often have seasonal family holiday meals you can order in advance (for example-Thanksgiving). Delicious! -

Where to begin? The yelp reviews that led us to this place were spot on. The staff couldn't be any nicer. The food is absolutely delicious. Highly recommend a panini and one of the homemade soups. We got a couple pieces of a yellow cake with fresh strawberries and cream cheese icing to go. I just finished it with a cup of coffee and will seriously dream about this cake. Here's to hoping next time I go in it's in the case.

Where waiters talk about the food like it's a fifty shades of grey novel. Aside from the sweet talking about all the tasty ingredients, the food also stood up to all that sweet talk. We went for the pick two options sandwich & soup and tried the Belarus Tea- which was almost medicinal but fabulous in spices.
The turkey, bacon, & pimento was absolutely made better by the tomato jam- so they should probably just tuck that in as a regular ingredient.
The chicken salad croissant was lightly dressed and yet hearty in chicken and veggies at the same time.
The daily soup of creamed spinach & smoked Gouda was rich and bold with the intense Gouda flavor.
Corn chowder was a perfect blend of being rich to the pallet but light to the tummy.
We were sweet talked into Lemon Cheesecake and didn't regret it.
